Life of a Technical Support Agent

I've been working as a Technical Support Agent for about 4 years. I was with Etelecare in Libis Eastwood for almost 2 years. Then I worked with Dell Intl. Services in MOA (Mall of Asia) for two years and now I am with APC (American Power Conversion) for 9months.

Life of a Technical Support Agent is quite hard. You need to have both the technical knowledge and customer service skills. Through those years I learned a lot on how to troubleshoot over the phone, give instructions to customers , sympathize with them, have patience (a lot of it), acknowledge their needs etc...

Earlier today I got irate to one of my customers. Though I am mad, I cannot fight with him since he is our "customer". This is the hard part of it, when the customer is getting below the belt and talking to you like someone without feelings.

Those of you who have worked or working as a customer service rep might have experience this one time or another. My heart wants to explode, thank God I don't have highblood or hypertension because I might get an attack during incidents like this.

This customer of mine earlier, shouted at me insulted me and even called me an idiot. I wanted to shout back, but I don't want to lose my job. All I can do is accept all the insults and keep quiet. Do you know how it feels when you're so angry and you can't express your feelings. I'm getting teary eyed, my heart is beating so fast, my hands are getting cold and I really wanted to explode.

What I did is I put the customer on hold for a few minutes and release my tension by shouting and talking to my friends on the floor. I went back to the customer and replace the defective unit but then after the call, I still feel the pain and tension within me. That's why I wrote this article to release more of what I feel.

All of us are costumers in different ways. We all deserve good service but we should also think that those people we are dealing with are just doing there job. We should know how to fight for our rights without hurting others and we should treat everybody with respect.

Butt Pain during Pregnancy

I am 5 months pregnant and I'm experiencing a pain on the right cheek of my butt. Most of the time I feel it when I try get up from bed or roll over and also when I tried to stand up after long sitting. It really hurts that I would stop moving. It feels like a muscle pain or a joint that is misaligned. I tried to search online and find out that there are a lot of pregnant woman who are experiencing this.

Here are some of the tips that I got online to relieve the pain, but I would still suggest to consult your OB:
  • Try to keep your feet elevated and don't sit for too long - bending at the hip aggravates it.
  • Not to cross your legs while sitting and massage it at night if needed.
  • Have a pre-natal massage.
  • Try the pelvic floor exercise for pregnant woman.
  • Do some stretching.
  • Go for a little walk.
This might be what they call PGP (Pelvic Girdle Pain). The pain is really irritable and I hope I can be relieve by trying some of the suggestions above and I will consult my OB as well.

My Mom's 54th Birthday

2 more days to go and its my Mom's 54th birthday. The celebration will be held at my tito's place in Endaya Cove. I already posted several event in this resort. Since my tito open the said resort we already celebrated a lot of events there.

My shift at work is always 12midnight - 9am. Since we need to go to Batangas I swapped schedule with one of my team mate to get the earliest shift which is 9pm-6am. My mom said she is not sure yet if we will be able to use our van to go there because my Kuya Dennis (my oldest brother) said he have a schedule business on the said date. He had a service I think in La Union, if you need to go somewhere and need a transportation you can contact him.

Whether we will have a vehicle or we will commute we will still celebrate my mom's birthday there. I don't have a gift yet. I'm thinking of maybe creating something instead of buying because I am out of budget. Just in case if you don't know I am the only one working and my husband take care of our little kid and our house. I hope I would be able to bring anything for my mom this Saturday. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Happy Birthday Mom, Love You!

My Old Ericsson K700i

I have this phone (Sony Ericsson K700i) for I think 5 or 6 years now.  I got this when I was still working in Etelecare in Libis Eastwood.  The price of this then was about 24K in pesos.  I even asked my Uncle to use his credit card so I can pay for it in 6months.

Now, you can get this phone I think for more or less than 10K. Every year newer model of cellphones comes out and its features are getting better and better. Because of this, prices of cellphones goes down abruptly.  Its value depreciates so quickly.

I'm not using the phone now because its battery life wouldnt last for the whole day.  It gives me headache because it always goes off whenever I needed it mostly.  Twice the battery has been replace since I got it.  I was thinking of disposing the phone by selling it or buy a new battery instead.

The thought of selling it for 3k hesitates me to do it because it always goes to my mind that I got it for 24k!  I told myself I would never buy a phone again that is too expensive.  How about you, what do you do with your old cellphones?

First Glimpse

I found out that I was pregnant last November. This is not a surprise because my husband and I actually planned this. Since my little boy is already 3 yrs old we now wanted to have a little girl. My OB asked me to have a transvaginal ultrasound to find out how old the baby was. I got the result after a week and find out on Dec 22, 2008 that my baby is more than 3 months old. I saw my baby on the screen and its really amazing to have a living human inside my body. God is really marvelous. Later I will update this post and upload the copy of the ultrasound. I will have another ultrasound on my 6th month. My OB told me we will be able to determine if the baby is a girl or a boy. I really pray that its a baby girl. I'll update you guys soon. ^_^

Here is the ultrasound result.

ChinaBank Bad Customer Service

The link below is the requirement posted on Chinabank.com.ph to be able to open a chinacheck plus.

http://www.chinabank.ph/personal/pagedetail.aspx?id=A4BFCEED-565D-413B-8EA3-A238AD476ACE&link=20f445a8-3971-4b81-b42f-8c4a5aba7792

Because of the low initial deposit requirement I got interested since I needed it for my housing application. I was informed by my brother that he was able to open the said account at ChinaBank SM Bacoor without any hassle. He doesnt have an existing account with them but he was able to get the check including the passbook on the same day that he applied. So after my shift today I decided to go to Chinabank at SM Southmall since it is more convenient for me. I was shock because the customer service rep told me I should have an existing account with 20k balance for the past 6months. It was never mention on their website and my brother doesnt have an existing account. She refer me to her manager. I told the manager that my brother was able to open an account in SM Bacoor and he was not asked of the requirement they were asking me. And guess what he told me "Eh d pumunta ka don." He even asked me whats your business, which I didnt answer not bec. I dont have a business but because of my disappointment. They are both Chinabank and they were following different policy. It appears to me that what they have on their website is a false adverstisement. What really makes me disappointed as well is I was treated like a trash and not valued at all as a customer. It appears that they only offer good service to those client who have big savings account. The manager did not show any interest of helping me. Because of what happen I withdraw my remaining balance and open an account to a different bank. I hope their management will do something about these or else they will lose other clients as well. They should value all of their customers and treat them equal.

Why Does God Allow Evil?

"Why Does God Allow Evil?" - This is a common question asked by everyone and even me I have that question. While browsing the web I found this article by Rick Warren, famous author of Purpose Driven Life and it enlightens me about Why Does God Allow Evil. Read the Article Below and hope you learn from it too.

Why Does God Allow Evil?
by Rick Warren

The horrific mass murder of innocent Americans leaves all rational people shocked, angry, grief-stricken and numb. Our tears flow freely and our hearts carry a deep ache. How could this happen in our nation?

As mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, neighbors and coworkers begin to share their stories of the horror, this tragedy will become even more personal. As it becomes more personal, it will become more painful, and as our pain deepens, so will the questions. Why does God allow evil to happen? If God is so great and so good, why does he allow human beings to hurt each other?

The answer lies in both our greatest blessing and our worst curse: our capacity to make choices. God has given us a free will. Made in God's image, he has given us the freedom to decide how we will act and the ability to make moral choices. This is one asset that sets us apart from animals, but it also is the source of so much pain in our world. People, and that includes all of us, often make selfish, self-centered and evil choices. Whenever that happens, people get hurt.

Sin is ultimately selfishness. I want to do what I want, not what God tells me to do. Unfortunately, sin always hurts others, not just ourselves.

God could have eliminated all evil from our world by simply removing our ability to choose it. He could have made us puppets, or marionettes on strings that he pulls. By taking away our ability to choose it, evil would vanish. But God doesn't want us to be puppets. He wants to be loved and obeyed by creatures who voluntarily choose to do so. Love is not genuine if there is no other option.

Yes, God could have kept the terrorists from completing their suicidal missions by removing their ability to choose their own will instead of his. But to be fair, God also would have to do that to all of us. You and I are not terrorists, but we do harm and hurt others with our own selfish decisions and actions.

You may hear misguided minds say, "This must have been God's will." Nonsense!

In a world of free choices, God's will is rarely done! Doing our own will is much more common. Don't blame God for this tragedy. Blame people who ignored what God has told us to do: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

In heaven, God's will is done perfectly. That's why there is no sorrow, pain or evil there. But this is earth, a fallen, imperfect place. We must choose to do God's will everyday. It isn't automatic. This is why Jesus told us to pray, "Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."

The Bible explains the root of evil: "This is the crisis we're in: God's light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness ... because they were not really interested in pleasing God" (John 3:19, Message Translation). We're far more interested in pleasing ourselves.

There are many other questions that race through our minds during dark days. But the answers will not come from pollsters, pundits or politicians. We must look to God and his Word. We must humble ourselves and admit that each of us often choose to ignore what God wants us to do.

No doubt houses of worship across America will be packed in the coming days. In a crisis we cry out for a connection with our Creator. This is a deep-seated, universal urge. The first words uttered by millions on Sept. 11 were "Oh God!"

We were made for a relationship with God, but he waits for us to choose him. He is ready to comfort, guide and direct us through our grief. But it's your choice.
