In celebration of the Nutrition Month for the month of July, Ron David was assigned by his teacher to bring fruit salad. He is in kindergarten now, I can't remember what food he brought last year. This will happen this coming Friday and I need to prepare fruit salad good for 16 people. I find this a good event to let kids know the importance of healthy food. As we all know it is very hard to let a kid eat fruits and vegetable. My sons favorite are fried chicken, corned beef, hotdog, softdrinks and junk food. Once in a while he would agree to eat some veggies like squash, kangkong, carrots, potatoes etc. According to statistics every year 31.8 percent of school age children are underweight, 32 percent are stunted, and 6.6 percent suffer from wasting. Let us act now and train our children to eat healthy food for them to grow healthy and smarter.
