ICON

This afternoon at David's graduation (nursery), Mrs. Maria Stella B. Rey, give the inspirational talk. She came in straight from Manila. Although she is late because of the traffic in coastal she actually shared good thoughts. She told a story first to the children about a mom who always sing a lullaby to his little boy and when he became a man who also sings that same lullaby to his kid. After that she told us that the preschool graduates are called ICON (Individual Capable of Nourishment).

She said that learning starts at home. The age 0-8 is very crucial because this the time that children are being molded. This is the good time to teach them good values. At the age of 9 and up they are already an individual with a personality. Whatever they learned and absorbed during their developing years make them as a person. When they reach high school you can look back at their preschool days and realize why they became who they are. This is a long progress and we as parents should be aware of it.

I remember the seminar that I attended before at CCF (Christ Commision Fellowship). We should teach our children while they are still small about good values and teachings of God. When they reach teen ager and went out to the world we no longer have control over them. But then the values that we have planted in their heart will be their guide in making decisions for themselves. So at a very young age we should already teach them about good and bad. Just like what Mrs. Rey said, don't say they are just kids and do not know things yet. Do not tolerate their bad doings but instead correct them.

Visit to Johan

After our shift last Saturday I went straight to Bulacan. Even though I am tired, no sleep yet I am excited to see my sis or girl friends. Our friendship started when I was in college. We rarely see each other after graduation but the friendship is still there. Pinky give birth to a healthy baby boy name Johan read as Yohan last January 20. Supposedly we should visit her last February but due to personal reasons we are not able to visit her.

It was quite a long trip for me since she lives in the north while me lives in the south. My shift ends at 8am in the morning and I met with Annete and Ime in Robinson Ortigas. We left there at around 11am and go to Cubao where we rode a bus going to Cabantuan. We had more than an hour trip going to Plaridel Bulacan.

Pinky is still pretty as she is. She doesnt really gain weight , just a little tummy which I believe she can burn with few exercise and diet. Baby Johan is so cute and cuddly. He got her complexion from her mom and he looks like his grandfather from his dad's side looking at his picture. I haven't meet  his dad so I cannot really tell if he looks like him. But at that age you cannot really tell. Maybe when he gets 1 or 2 yrs old we will be able to tell whose blood is thicker.

It was a good reunion. We shared different stories and enjoy chit chatting. Pinky let us brought home indian mangoes from their tree. We will go back there is coming April for baby Johan baptism.

Visit to Summer Pointe Phase 2

I've been posting my frustration about getting a house at Summer Pointe in Daang Hari. Yesterday we paid a visit in phase 2. Someone online whom I talked with in a forum told me to walk inside Phase 2 even though the road is not yet finished. She told me there are already lots of houses finished. Well, she is right! Seeing those houses inside Phase 2 makes me excited but then I was frustrated again when I look for my exact Block and Lot and there is nothing yet. Although some house are already finished around the area.

Seeing a lot of houses gives me hope that one day we will be able to move to our own little house. I just wondered why they haven't started to built my house. I already paid 4 months of monthly amortization to the developer and there was still no progress. Because of what I saw I will stop my plan of going to HLRUB and maybe late a little more. I hope everything will be alright.

Potluck

I think it was last month when our team had a potluck. There are lots of food like dinuguan, pizza, litson manok, nachos, putopao, etc. It was a yummy and a fun day. Not only our team enjoyed it but also other people in the office.

Tomorrow we are planning to have another potluck. We are planning to have menudillo, liempo, chicken, spaghetti and ensaymada. I knew this is going to be another fun shift. I hope this time I will be able to capture picture to post.

Plants Vs Zombies

My office mate told me to try playing Plants Vs Zombies. It is quite addictive. Me and my husband are actually comparing who is better. I would say this is a strategy game. You need not to let the zombies enter your house by placing different plants to attack the zombies. It comes with Adventure Game, Puzzle Mode, Mini Games and Survival. You can also get 3 types of garden where you can plant and earn gold. The Puzzle, Mini Game and Survival can be unlocked by playing the adventure game.

Go ahead and try playing this, but I already warned you this is an addictive game. See if can beat me on survival I was able to survive for 26flags! Weeee!! I'll post a pic later when I get home.

BDO Emerald Rewards

I was surprised yesterday. A guy delivered a special package and he said it is from BDO. I thought is a credit card hehehe, well it is BDO Emerald Rewards. I already have SM Advantage Card and looking through the brochures, it works the same way. It just that Emerald members have more perks. I already activated it but I haven't transfer my SM Advantage points. Last night when I call their customer service it is already closed. I send them an email to transfer my SM Advantage points but I don't have reply yet.

Let see if I can move up to the next level. It is quite hard to earn points. P200 pesos is equivalent to 1pt which is equals to 1 peso.

Pag-ibig Monthly Amortization

In regards to the problem that I have with Prosperity Builders Resources Inc. I decided to send an email to Pag-ibig Public Affairs. I am really concern why they are asking me to pay for the monthly amortization even if the house is not yet filed to Pag-ibig.

Below is the letter that I send to Pag-ibig:

Magandang Umaga,

The Public Relations and Information Services Group

I already talked to the developer several times. I asked them why I need to pay monthly amortization and what they told me is it is in the contract that I signed. When I asked them before to withdraw my application they told me that it is not possible and I will not be able to refund anything. They always tell me that if I will not pay the MA my application will be forfeited and I will not be able to get anything. They are really abusing their clients.

Prosperity Builders Resources Inc.

I've posted here before the scam that happen with Golden Dragon Realty which was a broker of Prosperity Builders. To give you a background me and my husband decided to get a house from Summer Pointe Subdivision. It is a low cost housing near daang hari.

I thought my head ache was over when Golden Dragon Realty closed but then I got nightmares now. Prosperity, the developer of the said subdivision, says that we signed a contract stating that we need to pay the monthly amortization even though it is not yet filed with Pag-ibig Housing Loan. I signed a lot of papers and I was not really able to find which one states that. Given the benefit of the doubt that we had that contract they cannot tell me when they will be able to file it to Pag-ibig. I started paying my MA since November of 2009. It is now 5months since then. When my husband went there yesterday (March 3, 2010) to pay he was told that it is not yet filed because my payment is not updated. I admit that I have 1 month arrears  but it only started this February of 2010. How come they did not start building the house in November, December or January. Does it mean that if I have 1 month delay for a year they will not file it. If only I can reimbursed everything. I've planned to do that before I started paying my MA but they said it is not possible.

We are able to visit the site in mid February and the road is not yet finished in Phase 2. What I believe the developer doesn't have enough fund to build the houses that is why they are getting money from their clients. I should be saving those payment to fix the house when it is turn over to us but instead I am paying without any assurance. I am afraid that it might take a year or who can tell how long. I cannot stop paying because they are telling me that my application will be defaulted and I will not be able to get anything. I hope someone can help me on this.

Women found a Finger in her Wendy's Chili

It is funny because while I was searching online on what is the english term for "siling haba." I saw this story. It is quite interesting and I cannot believe that someone can do silly things like this just to get money.

In March 2005, a woman claimed to have found part of a severed finger in a bowl of chili at a Wendy's restaurant in San Jose, California. The woman claimed to have discovered the finger (actually two sections of finger tissue) after eating a portion of the chili containing the severed tissue. The woman alleged to have put a portion of the finger tissue in her mouth and then spat it out. After vomiting, she notified restaurant employees, who then called the police. A medical examiner identified the tissue as part of a human finger.
The charges and claims generated far reaching and intense negative publicity for the third largest U.S. hamburger chain; sales dropped nationwide.
After a forensic investigation that included analysis of every step in the food production chain and "trace-back" analysis of elements discovered in the finger tissue, authorities suspected that the initial complaint was a fraud intended to intimidate the restaurant chain into a potentially lucrative financial settlement for the initial complainant.
Forensic trace element analysis showed that the finger had not been cooked with the ingredients in the chili, and therefore, must have been placed in the chili after it was cooked.
Ultimately, the woman who claimed to have found the finger was arrested, initially on one count of grand theft stemming from an unrelated real estate transaction and on one count of attempted grand theft for the allegations made against the Wendy's restaurant. The woman's long history of suing large corporations, along with claims against other restaurant chains, cast doubt on her claim with investigators. As of April 2005, the resolution of larceny charges against the woman remained pending.
Initially started as a public health investigation, the case was soon turned over to criminal forensic investigators. Along with the official investigation, the Wendy's chain hired their own team of detectives and forensic experts to test and verify the integrity of their food supply and processing. The chain also offered an award eventually boosted to $100,000 for information about the origin of the finger.
By mid-May 2005, the finger had been identified as that from an associate of Ayala's husband, who had lost the digit in an industrial accident in December 2004.

Wrapped Chili Finger with Cheese

I was able to taste this on my mom's birthday. My tita is the one who prepared it. The seeds are already removed and replaced with cheese then wrapped using a lumpia wrapper. If you enjoy spicy food you will enjoy it. It is good as a side dish or maybe a pulutan. Maybe I will try cooking it when there is a drinking session at work or at home. I hope I will be able to find a chili finger as long as what they have in Cuenca Batangas.
